Pre-Impregnation

Starboard wanted to develop the lightest shafts with the most accurate bend curves. Pre-impregnated fabrics have the lowest resin uptake and provide the most consistent production.

Carbon shaft is light weight and durable for both wave and touring sessions. The Carbon fibres are filament winded with the most precise amount of resin infusion.

What does the flex mean?

Carbon comes in S40 for fixed, S35 for adjustable and 3 piece.

S35 – Popular with taller paddlers using a longer shaft. Available in Fixed Round Prepreg carbon, Adjustable in Prepreg carbon.

S40 – A balance in performance between stiffness and flex. Available in Fixed Prepreg Carbon.

29mm Round – The lightest and most versatile shaft. Preferred for all round paddling and waves.

How many pieces in the paddle?

Adjustable shaft is precise, light and strong. The wide tiki clamp for a quick and effortless release. The skinny rounded and smooth clamp ensures that your hand never gets stuck on a hard corner when shifting grip.

2 piece Adjustment – adjustable shafts are great for paddlers looking for different paddle lengths or sharing the paddle with friends and family.

3 piece Adjustment – 3pc adjustable shaft connect using a secure spring pin system and comes with an additional Clamp to reduce any play. When full detached, measures only 91cm and easily fits inside the Re-Cover bag. (Tufskin sold without inner register slot on shaft).
