Assorted Slang and Terminology 6 - Cyberpunk

According to Wikipedia, Cyberpunk is defined as “... a subgenre of science fiction in a futuristic setting that tends to focus on a "combination of lowlife and high tech" featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order.”

This volume of ASAT gives you a collection of terms and slang to help flesh out your worlds and stories within a genre, in this case cyberpunk.

As well as various ‘punk terms, some computing and corporate terms are thrown is as well, to add to the immersion.

Brain Bucket
Slang term for a helmet, normally the one motorbike riders have on.

Cortex Bomb
Cybernetic implant designed to explode or otherwise destroy the brain of the person to whom it was implanted.
